UPDATE: aggiornata la guida per installare ubuntu su un DELL XPS M1530
Segnalo brevemente che la guida per installare ubuntu (hardy o intrepid) su un DELL XPS M1530 è stata aggiornata.
Tra le novità:
- istruzioni differenziate per niubbi ed utenti più esperti, ed indicazioni sulla scelta della versione del system bios più appropriato.
- stringhe da aggiungere in /boot/grub/menu.lst per eliminare il problema del touchpad
- nuovi riferimenti per intrepid ibex
La guida verrà aggiornata ancora, man mano che le release di ubuntu andranno avanti nel tempo e man mano che scoprirò come ottimizzare il mio PC con la distribuzione linux più popolare al mondo. Se avete aggiunte da suggerire i commenti sono a disposizione come sempre! Io sono tutt’orecchi

I bought my Dell XPS M1530 shortly after Christmas, and I bought it refurbished. I paid around $1300 (after many upgrades), but ended up saving around $600 just because it was refurbished. I bought it from the refurbished section of Dell’s website. I have been very pleased with it. I know many people don’t like Windows Vista (which came on this machine), but so far I have no complaints. It runs fast and has had no major issues.
